Who is Babylon? (Part 2/3)

What could be better than entering the realm of the gods?  What's better than the human community united in common pursuit?  And best of all...  they're using really cool tools to pull it off!  

What could go wrong?

Well... from the human perspective things look a little weird but seem okay... I guess...  But there is another perspective we should consider... 

The ever-living, omnipotent, omnipresent, redeemer, friend of sinners, perspective of God.

So... the Lord looks down on Babel and says

"Awwwwww isn't this great??? 

The human race is all working together to come up to where I live so they can be with me!  And sooo fantastic about these cool new tools they've developed to get the job done!

This is crazy AWESOME!"

Oh... wait... sorry... wrong bible.  Let me grab this other one...  Oh..  actually it says,

"Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language, and this is only the beginning of what they will do. And nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them."

That's weird God... you mean this effort isn't all rainbows and unicorns?  You mean the human race actually needs to be supernaturally thwarted from achieving this wonderful objective? 

Why?

Because as it turns out... 

the gods are actually demons. 

And they don't live in the clouds.  They live in another dimension, unseen by the eye; a.k.a the spirit realm.  

Demonology 101

For those of you wondering, a demon is an intelligent power existing in another dimension.  These demon spirits can operate directly in our world through conscious beings.  There are many stories in the New Testament of people who were possessed of demons.  There was this one guy that was chalked full of legions of demons.  Jesus drove that horde of evil spirits into a herd of pigs that immediately stampeded off a cliff apparently in an effort to free themselves from the pig consciousness through death. Crazy demons.

And....  it just so happens that these twisted beings are bent on enslaving and destroying the human race.   

Real buzzkill right??? 

You might be inclined to ask...  why so harsh man???

The human race is made in the image of the Creator.  The Creator has been treasonously betrayed by these demon spirits that will continue to revolt until Jesus Christ returns and puts all things under his direct rule (can I get a hallelujah?).

Basically, it boils down to demons hate us because they hate God more.

And for those somewhat unfamiliar with the Bible story, God DOES NOT want his creation to merge with demons. 

Gospel 101

What God wants is much simpler.  He wants us to come to the Truth.  To come to the Truth, we must repent of our sin and believe in Jesus Christ.  This invitation is for all.  It doesn't matter what you have done, your sins can be washed away through Jesus Christ.  You can find the answer your soul is longing for.  I did.

Now...  back to the story.

When the Lord sees the Tower of Babel, notice his response...

He says that this is "only the beginning of what they will do."  Or in other words this only their first attempt to march into heaven.  One of these days they are gonna find out that the "ladder to the sky thing" wont work. 

But they will learn from their mistakes and try again.

and again... and again...  and again...
